Journey by train has its own fun, frolic and experiences. And when you are travelling with college friends, fun and thrill get multiplied. After the end of the last semester, me & my friends from IIT Patna were scheduled to come home by Rajendranagar Hatia Express. When we reached station, we were first greeted by our hostel warden and one more mathematics faculty. Both were going home the same day.(our hostel warden is a nice and friendly person and therefore we don't fear him)
Though there are many direct trains from Patna but this train is the only train which runs after 5pm & on all days (we have our endsem papers from 2 to 5 pm), so there were many IITians. One M.Tech girl and one 1st year guy had seat in front of us. After some time, RAJ (I regret for those who don't know raj) came.
The junior with us was a non-ideal IIT student. He sleeps at 10 pm, wakes at 5 am, visits temple daily, attend all classes, keeps himself updated with class. No wonder, he is expecting 9 spi. Like metals at 0 kelvin , Raj is perfectly ideal IIT student. Train started and so our discussion. We asked the junior about his first semester experiences. He was full praise for faculties, institute and everything. He started giving us tips on "ladki patana" and "getting cpi".(And we thought we were seniors)
So, Raj (for the first time) was very much interested in cpi building tips. Raj told him his daily routine. Here goes his daily routine:
09:00 am - Breakfast
10:00 am - facebook/sleep/class (priority level from left to right)
01:00 pm - lunch
02:00 pm - lab/sleep
05:00 pm - basketball
08:00 pm - bath
09:00 pm - dinner
09:30 pm - guitar
11:00 pm - canteen
12:00 pm - facebook
01:00 am - movies
Junior was asked to take out time from the busy schedule for Raj's studies.
Junior: leave facebook. That's waste of time.
Raj: arre, facebook?? facebook is my moral commitment. If i don't go, people will miss me.
Junior: decrease the time on facebook.
Raj: yaar jaan-pehchaan thora jyada hai facebook pe. 1 hour to hi-hello me nikal jata hai.
Junior: leave basketball.
Raj: log kehte hai ki main accha khelta hoon, ab nai jaunga to accha nai lagega.
Junior: Then you continue. I can't say anything.
In the night, we were playing antrakshari and dumb charades. All IITians in train joined us. A moment later, an uncle too joined us. In dumb charades, he always guessed actor as Amitabh Bachhan. Like every end of dumb charades, our too ended at movies like bhagte bhoot ki khulti langoti , saari ke upar saaya and bargad ki per par latki churail. Raj, much to our surprise, was very good at old hindi songs. We asked him for the inspiration of the same. Perhaps, it was the M.Tech girl, Raj hesitated to disclose the inspiration.
( actually Raj was suffering from an incurable disease called the K-factor . All his crushes have their names starting with K , whether they are celebrities like Katrina Kaif , Kajal Agarwal……..or his schoolmates like Khusi, Komal , Kamini…… or his lone college crush , the M.Tech girl . )In the morning, Raj disclosed the inspiration. Her name was golgappe wali. (exception for the first time). He said that his love was very serious. It started when Raj was in class 12. ‘Golgappe wali' and Raj's houses were 50 feet apart. It all started when Raj used to study in his terrace, she too used to study at her terrace. Both used to see each other. They never talked. This see-game continued for about 4 month. You people must have watched hundred of bollywood movies, where there are loving couple, they dance around trees on some emotional bollywood track and toward the end of the movie, there is a "wall" in between them. That wall may be baap, bhai, paisa, amiri-garibi, chacha, dada and their is a emotional speech which melts their heart and breaks the metaphorical "wall". But Raj's love story is slightly different. Yes, there is a "wall" but this is real "wall". A new construction started in 50 feet between their house and in 4 month, the "wall" of new construction reached to such height that it started obstructing their view. After class 12 Raj went to IIT. During one vacation, when Raj was visiting his home, again he saw her. This time she was eating Golgappe on a stall in front of his house with her boyfriend (though Raj still thinks that the boy was her brother ). And henceforth the name,"Golgappe wali". But later Raj revealed her real name , “Kalpana”. ( I told you the disease is incurable. )
P.S. : The characters mentioned in the post are purely ficticious. Any resemblance to a person alive can be made at your own risk :P
What you're saying is completely true. I know that everybody must say the same thing, but I just think that you put it in a way that everyone can understand. I'm sure you'll reach so many people with what you've got to say.
